My baby turns 18!

Can you say baby and 18 in the same sentence? Boy how time flies when you are having fun.........and fun in what I have had being Alex's mom! Motherhood has blessed me in many ways and Alex is one of them. Alex is very competitive, he was blessed with athletic gifts, and it has been fun watching him develop them through the years. When he was two years old he received a basket ball hoop for his birthday, and every night he had to make 10 shots before he would go to bed. I usually had the other to bed and John worked nights so I would stay up watching his determination night after night, and after the 10 he would go right to bed! I had to stay down for 6 months of my pregnancy with Alex, and it was quite the challenge with three small ones already to look after, but it was worth every minute to bring this special spirit into the world. The quality Alex has that I admire the most is his ability to control his emotions. He has never once, been angry with me or his dad or any of his siblings or anyone for that matter. He takes things in stride and doesn't take offense. He is humble and a person we are all drawn to. I don't know how he does it................and it is a quality I try to follow after.
Happy Birthday Alex!!

Food 4 Thought

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Breakfast What is your favorite cereal? That would have to be my home made granola! I also really like cooked oat groats.

Lunch Have you ever experienced an earthquake? Yes, when I was nine years old. We lived in Garland , I was setting on the toilet doing my thing and the toilet began to shake!!!! I didn't know what was going on and I was afraid I was going in to the toilet!! Need less to say my family had a good laugh, and I will always remember the only earthquake tremors I have ever felt..................and hopefully ever will. Not really likely knowing that I live on a fault line!! Brady felt the one in our area just last week, he is doing at internship with KUTV 2 UTah news so he called in and they put him on the air live with Mark Koelbel!

Dinner What is something or someone you are missing right now? I find myself missing my Dad a lot these days. We bought his truck from my mom and it is like having a part of him...he was always in his truck, working or playing!! My dad also love to watch Alex play soccer and with this being his final season I wish my Dad could be here to cheer him on! I do know that he watches over our family, celebrating our joys with us.

Midnight Snack When is the last time you cried? Everyday for the past two weeks!! The end of the semester was really challenging for me. I had some major comprehensive test that really challenged me and I found myself exhausted and in tears many nights! I know when we challenge ourselves we grow..............I passed all of my test in the 90's and ended the semester with good grades for my efforts.....now the question...........can I keep this up????

Friday Fill Ins..............
And...here we go!

1. Where are my glasses? I lost them yesterday after taking two finals, my brain was fried and I can't remember where I left them!!
2. If wishes were horses I would want a stand peed.
3. I'd like to see good grades when I pull them up in two days.
4. When I was a teen, I thought Donny Osmond was dreamy! Oh wait I still do!!.
5. One of my mother's favorite sayings was "are you popping birds?".
6. I'd have a hard time doing without my glasses!.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to going to Alex's soccer game and taking lots of pictures, tomorrow my plans include working in my yard, cleaning my house ( long over due) maybe a date with my sweet man and Sunday, I want to teach my Sunday school lesson, make Sunday dinner for my family and relax!

If you ask me what I came to do in this world, I will answer you: "I am here to live out loud" ~Emile Zola

This quote has always resonated with me. To me living out loud is not necessarily being loud! Mother Teresa comes to mind when I think of this quote. Such a quiet Lady, yet so many loud statements made in her quiet way. A smile, an act of kindness, service are all ways of living out loud!

This quote also reminds me of all the goals and ambitions I still have to accomplish!! There is a lot of living to do, so let's get living!!
What hidden dreams or goals or childhood ambitions do you have? Why not pursue them? Why not live out loud? Pick up a paint brush, join a karate, or jazz dancing class. It is never too late to pursue a childhood dream, unless we allow it to be.

OKay GO have a DAY! Don't let the DAY have you!!

I Wonder when he comes again.....................

I wonder, when he comes again, Will herald angels sing? Will earth be white with drifted snow, Or will the world know spring? I wonder if one star will shine Far brighter than the rest;

Will daylight stay the whole night through?
Will songbirds leave their nests? I’m sure he’ll call his little ones Together ’round his knee, Because he said in days gone by, “Suffer them to come to me.” I wonder, when he comes again, Will I be ready there To look upon his loving face And join with him in prayer?

Each day I’ll try to do his will And let my light so shine That others seeing me may seek For greater light divine. Then, when that blessed day is here, He’ll love me and he’ll say, “You’ve served me well, my little child; Come unto my arms to stay.”
