William Clark
To me, faith has always been a light in the darkness. When I am unsure, nervous, anxious, or scared... I fall back on faith. It always lights the path ahead. "Faith is the soul's food. One cannot live without it, or live well on just a little." While I have drifted back and forth many times in how diligently and actively I practice faith, I have noticed the times my life is most complete and content are when faith is a high priority. I am thankful to know of a loving Father in Heaven who requires me to exercise faith and to know I have a Savior in Jesus Christ. This week is a week to contemplate all that Jesus did for each of us, to look inside ourselves and utilize Faith to the fullest!
Today:
If you could imagine faith as a bank account, what would your balance be? Do you need to take steps to increase how actively you "live" the principle of faith? If so, what is a step you might take today?

Have you ever had one of those days (or weeks) where everything on your plate was something you didn't look forward to-doing? I faced such a week this past month. I remember going to bed, doing my positive thinking, only to come face to face with the bleak reality that there wasn't one thing on my list I felt positive about. I had ended up with a pile of things I didn't really want to-do, but all the same had to be done.
Just before drifting off to sleep Sunday night, I had an idea. I would make the upcoming week an "Ugly Week." Since I knew Monday contained three tasks I was dreading, I would find every other task I dreaded and fill the rest of the day. I would do the same thing for Tuesday and each other day that week. Every morning I would start with the task I least wanted to-do. The more annoying the task, the higher it would move on the priority list.
Monday morning came and I arose, determined to have my "Ugly Day." When the mail came, I didn't look at the fun stuff -- just the bills. As I went throughout the day, I chose the tasks that went "against my grain." I worked through the backlog of unattractive to-dos.
By the end of the week, something interesting had happened. I had marked off so many of those "weigh one down" tasks that I was in an incredibly good mood and felt so much lighter.
Your Turn:
When you find yourself in a backlog of to-dos that you don't want to-do, try this "ugly-week" tactic. Too often, we let these tasks remain undone and drain our energy for other tasks. When we incorporate just one "unattractive" task into our day, it can weigh us down the whole day. If we have twenty unattractive to-dos, we schedule ourselves for a month of "feeling under par." Having an "ugly week" allows us not only to consolidate those unattractive tasks, but also to feel good as we wipe the slate clean with "done" marks.

And no Zane was not his DATE!!
Notice the white tux.........when we met up with them after the promenade Alex has something very orange all over the bottom part of his tux!! I didn't get to look at all the great dresses but spent the time trying various method of getting the orange (later we found out barbecue sauce) out of the jacket!! YES I did get it out!! He smelled like Clorox the rest of the night but hey, it was white again!!
Alex took Hope the girl in the light blue green dress and black top! I didn't realize until I went to post these pics that I didn't get one of them together. He had fun coming up with a way to ask her and had a great time at the dance. He asked her by placing a walkie talkie with a note and then rang the door bell and waited in the bushes with another walkie talkie. When she pick up he asked her to prom and she accepted. Pretty cleaver!!
He and his buddies rented a van and all went together and seemed to have a great time!
My last one to go to PROM!! They are growing up fast. Enjoy the pics.........
