Decision Dwelling

It seems society if filled with people who love to ponder. I am one of them! pause.......... (Don't get me wrong pondering is a good thing.........my thoughts today are on what we do next....) continue..........We think about doing one thing or another, weigh the pros and cons, and then continue to think some more.

Examine for a moment, the common notion of getting in shape by following a workout schedule. First, we think about joining a gym. Then we think about the pros and cons – cost versus benefits of commitment. Then we think maybe we’re better off just getting an exercise machine. Then we turn on Oprah and she is praising the benefits of walking and we think, Oh maybe I’ll just do that. Then we think about if we will have the “sticktuitiveness” to do it alone, or if we should get an exercise partner…the beat goes on.

What does all this thinking allow us to avoid? It allows us to avoid taking action. It allows us to continue to live in the comfort of the familiar and avoid change.

Simply making the decision to invest time in a priority is one of the best steps toward realizing a priority.

Webster’s dictionary defines “decide” as follows: “1 a: to arrive at a solution that ends uncertainty or dispute about <> b: to select as a course of action – 2: to bring to a definite end synonym DETERMINE, SETTLE, RULE, RESOLVE.”

This definition eliminates the pondering and moves us toward our end goal. Take action and decide. Instead of resting in the comforts of non-commitment, take hold of today and DECIDE something that needs your attention– make the commitment. When we avoid making that commitment or decision, we are deciding to do nothing. And doing nothing will get us nowhere on the path toward our priorities.

Stop now and make a decision to help you align your daily life with a top priority. Commit your decision to paper. Continue to ponder and dream.........but with those thoughts remember at some point we need to take action to make it happen!!!!!!!!

This was my kick in the pants to get going on my goals and dreams! If you are reading this today hope it helps you also!!!!

Happy Fathers Day!

Today is one of those first that don't come that easy............I have my first fathers day without my dad. It is also a time that comes with reflection and memories. I have learned so many things from my dad. How to live life the the fullest having fun along the way. My dad's motto was WORK HARD, PLAY HARD, AND BE GOOD TO OTHERS!!. My dad taught me how to ride a horse, be responsible for a new born baby calf and how to give a shot to baby cafe. I watched him deliver many baby calves and curse many cows!! My dad taught me to be patient to be honest with others. I will never be able to watch a baseball game without thinking of him. A water fight will never be the same, and I will always remember what it is like galloping full speed on a horse in a open field on a warm summer day! Thanks dad for the memories!! I love you.

I also want to tell John how much I appreciate the great father he has been to our children. They could not have had a better person to be their father. I love you and thank you for your hard work, kindness, loads of fun and craziness!!

To dad's everywhere................Happy Fathers day! Thank you for rising to the challenge of Fatherhood, serving, loving and working hard to bless the lives of others..

Celebrating 23 years of Marital bliss!

I feel so blessed to be married to my best friend. John is the best of husbands and I truly mean that. He is thoughtful , kind, helpful, funny, spontaneous, good looking and a great kisser!! Now I won't tout that our marriage is in no way perfect, yes we fight with the best of them, and we have our challenges but when all is said and done we work hard to make it work! John has always respected me and treats me like a queen and has set a great example for our sons to follow. And I pray that our children will be as blessed as we have been in their future mates.

John played this song for me on our 5 year anniversary and it has always been one of my favs. It was a rainy night and he pulled the car over turned up the radio got out and danced with me in the RAIN!!

I like the feel of your name on my lips
And I like the sound of your sweet gentle kiss
The way that your fingers run through my hair
And how your scent lingers even when your not there

And I like the way your eyes dance when you laugh
And how you enjoy your two hour bath
And how you convinced me to dance in the rain
With everyone watching like we were insane

But I love the way you love me
Strong and wild
Slow and easy
Heart and soul
So completely
I love the way you love me

I like to imitate old Jerry Lee
And watch you roll your eyes when I'm slightly off key
And I like the innocent way that you cry
At sappy old movies you've seen hundreds of times

But I love the way you love me
Strong and wild
Slow and easy
Heart and soul
So completely
I love the way you love me

And I could list a million things
I love to like about you
But they all come down to one reason
I could never live without you

I love the way you love me
Strong and wild
Slow and easy
Heart and soul
So completely
I love the way you love me
Oh baby I love the way you love me

Ok I am kind of gushy today buy what can I say I love this MAN!! And when my grand daughters read this someday they will giggle and dream of finding a guy just like their funny old Grandpa!

Happy Birthday Kasey!!!!

This is my favorite picture of Kasey. It is my favorite because it shows his personality! Happy and full of life!!! He has always been such a happy guy, always telling me jokes and playing jokes on me. Kasey is also so very talented! He has a photographic memory, when he was in the second grade his teacher handed out a poem on Monday that they needed to memorize by Friday, Kasey would always forget his poem and I would get on him all week to bring it home. I thought I would teach Kasey a lesson in preparedness and not bug him about bringing the poem home so I didn't even ask about the poem and then when he came home from school on Friday I asked him how passing off the poem went ( expecting to hear that he was embarrassed that he didn't have it memorized) his reply was " It went great, I just waited to be the last one and then I had it memorized!" What a kid nothing phases him!!! He is also very gifted in music and it is always wonderful to hear him perform!Kasey you are a wonderful example to me. I know this year has not been a easy one for you, yet your courage in overcoming obstacles set in your path is great! Keep striving for the best in life and keeping your goals in your view and using the knowledge you have of who you are and where you are going and your life will be all that you want it to be. The ability to be happy is a gift, use this gift to help lift others. I love you so very much! You have been a great gift to me in as you mom!!!! Happy Birthday!!!! Love mom

Going for the GOLD!

We just got back from Cedar City where we attended the Utah Summer Games! What a fun experience it was. We have been going down for 5 years now and in those five years we have taken two gold medals, one sliver and one bronze! What a rush. It feels like the Olympics, complete with opening ceremonies with the parade of athletes, lighting of the torch and all the pomp and circumstance. This year we had five games in three days, attended the opening ceremonies and even found time to relax! And YES Alex's team BC united took home GOLD!! Ok I didn't think to take my camera to opening ceremonies!!! I know!! I sat there the whole time wishing I had my camera!!
Here are some highlights of our trip.

David Osmond was part of the entertainment!! Ok so he's not DONNY but what can I say I still had to go get the autograph and give him a hug!! It might be the closest I ever get!!
Here is a clip of the song he sang

The fireworks at the opening ceremonies are incredible!

Sad to see it end.............Celebrating a great mile stone! Alysa graduated high school with the class of 2009 of Box Elder High School!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alysa is my third to graduate high school., she is my only daughter! What am I going to do without her?????????????? Alysa is such a fun girl and the most non judgmental person I know. She is a friend to all! She can be seen with the small ones making friends, hanging with my friends and making friends and the aged as well as carrying on a very vigilante social life! She is a go getter, always determined to make her goals. She has decided to further her education at LDS business college where she hopes to become an office assistant. She will move at the end of AUGUST!! We are not sure how to run a household without her, she has always been the one to keep us going and where we need to be and on TIME!! WE love you Alysa!!
