Love it or Hate it?
This seems to be the question after the big weekend premier of the most talked about movie TWILIGHT! I did not realize how lucky I was to have been given a ticket to this most sought after movie!

It was about a year ago when my sister Kim told me she had a book that I had to read!! I have to admit I was a little skeptical after learning that it was a love story that involved a vampire! After all I am not into scary! But after her constant enthusiasm over these books I gave in and began to read. I quickly became intrigued with the characters and storyline. And yes, in no time at all I too was in love with Edward Cullen and the entire Cullen family. A family with high ideals, with a Father and a Mother, who teach their children high moral values and that to have self control is what will make them different than others of their kind, is quite refreshing with all the media influence to the contrary we have surrounding us.

As a mother I have to admit I would love to have my daughter date a vampire with a great since of self control that he strives to master on a daily basis!!!! Someone who is concerned with her physical well being, and would not want her hurt at any COST!

The movie was intense! It is surprising to me that through media so many emotions can be tapped! Yes, I felt as giddy as a young girl, and yes, by the end of the movie I was again fascinated with the Cullen Family ,and YES in love with a Vampire!!

My hope is that with all the hype of this book and movie and the intense feelings it brings about that we don’t forget the message of the Story!

That is, in a world where instant gratification is a way of life
that there can arise a little Cullen in all of us!!

Give me your vote Love it or Hate it?

Take the quiz! Which Cullen Heroine are you? I'm an Esme!
You are thoughtful and care very deeply for your family. A loving home is of great
importance to you and you always try to make people feel welcome. Although you have a great capacity to love, you also have a great capacity to hurt, so at times you can be
sensitive. You're firm when you need to be, but people trust your judgment and
appreciate the kind way you always handle things.

Monday Makeover~~
"It's pretty hard to tell what does bring happiness. Poverty and wealth have both failed." --Frank McKinney "Kin" Hubbard

What is on the list you mentally keep of "things that will make you happy?" I used to have a long list. I needed some more "me" time, I needed more one-on-one time with my husband or children or friends. I needed more money, or less debt. Interestingly, one of things that I have found that is most helpful in creating happiness right here and now is to throw out your list of "what I need to be happy."
Happiness isn't gained when we achieve something. When we achieve something, we gain only that which we were trying to achieve. Happiness is created, moment-to-moment, by choice. It isn't waiting anywhere for us: it is already here.

Let go of the concept that happiness comes with achievement. Realize that happiness is right here, right now. Commit to discovering it.
Monday Makeover~~~~~ Instead of expecting happiness, I create happiness.

Monday Makeover................

Productive Energy~

I have been working on having a more "productive energy" for a while now, and feel I am finely getting the principles down and want to share those principles with my family and friends.

On Mondays I am sharing my makeover secrets with you to keep myself motivated in this transformation process!

A couple of weeks ago I shared with you my CAN ( catch all notebook) this was just the start to changing some habits for me and starting new ones.

Aristotle said, "We become what we repeatedly do, excellence then is not an act, but a habit."

When we repeatedly step forward, we propel ourselves forward even further. When we continually stand still, we dig a bigger rut. When we continually move backward, we dig a big hole.

There is a section in my CAN titled "Goals" I have been setting goals for years BUT it wasn't until I started looking at a daily action plan that I started to accomplish those goals. Some of those goals I am still striving to complete! Example: I used to set down and write down a list of things I would like to accomplish (goals) then a week would go by, sometimes months would go by and I would find that I still had the same things on my list. I felt like a hamster on a tread mill constantly moving but not going anywhere!

Daily Decisions Decide Destiny!

We all can set goals but not many of us set an action plan to accomplish them.

This is how I pictured my year for 2008! I call it "A Home for my Dreams!"

My home has rooms for all areas of my live:

  • Emotional

  • Physical

  • Family

  • Spiritual

  • Service

  • Relationships

  • Home

  • Occupation

Once a week I review my "Dreams" and then I take a look at my week and plug in my action plan to accomplish those goals and dreams!

Here is how I got started with Productive Energy...........Make a list ... and make sure to check it twice: The first step in building productive energy is to be focused on the right track. Have a clear list of what you want to accomplish with clear and attainable time lines. Make sure to star three items for the day that will allow you to feel good about the day regardless of what bumps pop up in your path. ( I always put a big star by "get up" on my list! I am pretty sure I will accomplish! Hey, it is good to have something to check off at the end of the day!!)

Get started early:
Make sure to start your action list early in the day to build momentum.

Recharge: In order to be productive, you must have balance and that means learning what you personally need to recharge. Some people need quiet time each day, others just need a good night's rest. Discover what helps you recharge and work that it into your to-do lists.

Forget revving your engine and just go... The great thing about productive energy is you don't have to prepare or spend a lot of time thinking about it. Often we over-think and would be much better off following the Nike slogan. Push yourself over inaction and you'll discover that productive energy is ready and waiting for you whenever you need it.

Review and the end of the day: This was a big one for me, instead of getting to the end of the day and feeling overwhelmed by all I didn't get done. I get to look at what I did do. This is the time of day I get to see all the "Great things that did happen"! Little by little, page by page I am moving closer to fulfilling my DREAMS!!

When you come to the end of all the light you know, and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen: Either you will be given something solid to stand on or you will be taught to fly. ~Edward Teller
